Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Is there a special occasion coming up which you need an outfit for? Perhaps you have spent hours trawling the high street shops searching for the perfect evening knock out which will both make you feel and look beautiful, but will not be the same as anybody else’s?

An opportunity has arisen for you to have your very own unique gown custom-made for you, to your exact preferences and specifications. Award-winning fashion designer Seema Isaiah and her team of expert dress makers will help to create the perfect dress for you, ensuring it meets all of your personal preferences along the way.

Seema Isaiah was born in Hassan, south of Bangalore, and has witnessed first-hand the distressing living conditions of the population’s children and adults in southern India. Seema, a committed Christian, decided to set up the UK Charity to fund the building of an orphanage and any employment training workshop, all created with the primary goal of feeding, housing and educating these disadvantaged people close to her Indian home in Karnataka, not far from Bangalore. In addition to this, 2005 saw the launch of Seema’s first UK selling designer dresses company, providing bespoke outfits to personal customers or over the Internet. Seema’s well-equipped workshops in India provide essential work and training for people who are disadvantaged by disability, bereavement or family circumstances.

All of Seema’s garments are manufactured to the very highest quality and blend designs of Western styling with traditional Indian techniques and fabrics which are hundreds of years old. The intricate beading to be found of many of the dresses is created using a Persian embroidery technique called Zardosi which was brought to India by Mughal invaders in the 16th Century.

Indian-inspired fashion has increased in popularity recently, and Seema’s designs combine classic tailoring with the ornate detail and embellishments that have become so popular. Due to the flexible nature in how the dresses can be designed, all of Seema’s clothes are flattering and appropriate for women of all ages. Having long watched her mother at work, Seema was inspired to continue on and study Fashion Design at college.

The latest addition to her ever-expanding portfolio are UK wide textile workshops on exciting new projects such as recycling textiles and transforming them into high street fashion pieces. Seema now hosts teacher training workshops providing textile teachers with the extra knowledge surrounding today’s fashion tools, with which they can teach their students.

Seema’s excellent work has been recognised in various ways with a combination of BBC, ITV television appearances, awards including the International Young Fashion Designers’ contest and also via various UK wide fashion shows.

You will be able to choose from an enormous range of fabrics and vibrant colours, before exploring your creative side with a series of sketches and mannequins, all in aid of designing your very own perfect prom, party, cocktail or evening dress.

You don’t need to be particularly good at fashion designing, or have any experience of making clothes. Bring along your sharpest imagination and the design team will do the rest! Whether you are looking for a floor-length red, elegant gown, or perhaps a more summery floaty cocktail dress, this wonderful day is guaranteed to ensure that you come away with your perfect dress and a host of lovely memories.
